Physics Enrichment Camp 2018

Physics Enrichment Camp 2018 is a 2-day event from 5th June-6th June 2018.

The NUS Physics Enrichment Camp is carried out by the NUS Physics Department.
The objectives of the camp include:
(A) Introducing secondary school students to interesting aspects of physics
(B) Providing opportunities to see the bigger world of physics

The programme includes:
(A) Lectures
(B) Lab Tours / Hands-on Activities / Interactive Sessions / Demonstrations / Experiments
(C) Competition
(D) Interaction with physics undergraduate students and young researchers

7 students from SST signed up for the programme and they were:
Tan Yuan Jun ErnestS4-01
SonnyS4-01
Celeste Low XuelingS4-01
Stanley Tan Chang LongS4-02
Brandon GeeS4-04
Leo En Qi ValerieS4-05
Ng Kang ZheS4-07

The feedback from the students are as follows:

The physics camp allowed me to gain perspective into an almost new world of physics, ranging from exposure to JC-level mechanics to university-level concepts-most notably, of black holes. An overall enriching experience (Brandon Gee).

The camp gave me insight into a wide variety of scientific tools and exploration, from simple paper-plane aerodynamics to electron microscopes. I enjoyed the camp thoroughly and would be glad to experience similar camps in the future (Ernest Tan).

This camp broadens my outlook towards Physics in a positive manner. Through interacting with the professionals and having hands-on approach, understanding complex concepts taught at higher education institutes becomes much easier.  An insightful experience as a whole that I will recommend (Valerie Leo).

Overall this camp was a fun and engaging two day session that gave me an insight to higher level Physics through lectures given by the prestigious NUS professors and the hands on activities in the lab tours (Celeste Low).
