National STEM Championship 2024

The National STEM Championship is an annual STEM championship organised by the Singapore Science Centre, Media Corp Singapore, and A*STAR. 

Previously known as the National Science Challenge, 2024 will mark the 3rd year for National STEM Championship (NSTEMC)! NSTEMC’s objective is being relevant to better align with research, innovation and enterprise the landscape of Singapore - incorporated through the elements of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The competition hopes to continue to ignite and inspire the wonders of Science to the youth and the future generations of scientists and engineers, while nurturing their passion for scientific inquiry and develop creative problem-solving skills.

42 teams join the competition and SST is proud to have made it to the Grand Finals this year, emerging 3rd runners up. The team consists of Goh Zong Da Bryan, Lim Kai Jun, Nathan Quek Yi Kheng (S3-04) and Fu Cai Gui (S3-09).

“It’s important to not only focus on scientific knowledge but also be able to manage pressure efficiently and showcase strong presentation skills” – Fu Cai Gui (S3-09) 

SST, which placed fourth in the competition, developed a hydrodynamic boat prototype designed to reduce travel time and improve the efficiency of maritime deliveries.

The National STEM Championship serves as a platform for secondary school students to flex their creativity in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
