National Science Challenge 2019

A highly competitive televised game show that is broadcast on MediaCorp's Channel 5, the NSC provides Secondary Three students with a chance to put their skills and knowledge to the test during studio rounds and at on-site challenges hosted by A*STAR research institutes and other research organizations. Through the series, not only students but members of the public will be able to marvel at how science is in everything around us.
The National Science Challenge (NSC) is running for the 17th season this year. Since Jan 2002, the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR) and Science Centre Singapore have been organizing a series of exciting science programs on a search for the brightest young minds in Singapore. 
In May 2019, Team SST, consisting of Keith Chia Wen Kai, Akash Rajesh (S3-07),  Katelyn Pang En Qi (S3-05), and Loke Yi Ming (S3-02) participated in the Preliminary round and managed to qualify for the Quarter-finals. 24 out of 40 schools were shortlisted. 

In the Quarter-finals, Team SST was up against teams from Catholic High School, Dunman High School and Anglo-Chinese School (International). After the Science Communication Round and the Application Round, SST emerged victorious to proceed to the Semi-final round. 12 out of the 24 schools managed to proceed to the semi-finals.
