Singapore National Crystal Growing Challenge

The Singapore National Crystal Growing Challenge is a biennial event for secondary school, junior college and polytechnic students organised by NUS Department of Chemistry. During the crystal growing process, the students learn about the chemical processes behind the crystallization and the science and art behind the marvelous crystals that we encounter on a daily basis.

A total of 109 teams from 47 schools participated in the challenge in 2018. This year, the students presented ammonium cobalt(II) sulfate hexahydrate crystals for the Junior category. SST sent two teams to participate in the competition and below are some pictures of their crystals and posters.
