Four teams of SST students participated in the 25th International Elementz Fair, organised by Anderson-Serangoon Junior College. In this competition, over one hundred teams of students from over fifty schools from Overseas and Singapore participated.
One team, consisting of Fayona binte Sirajudeen and Lee Hau Yee from S3-05, came back with a bronze medal for their project on “Investigation of the effect of moisture on the moulding of bread”.
Another team, consisting of Evan Lee Yee Chen (S3-01), Jayden Tan Yi Zhe (S3-02) and Gavriel Chia Kai Ze (S3-05), returned with a bronze medal as well for their project on “Investigation on the time taken for the digestion of different forms of carbohydrates using amylase”.
“The competition was a joyful experience as I had the opportunity to share my interest in science. Along with that, I also learnt to improve my presentation skills. I also gained new knowledge about other topics by interacting with other groups from other schools taking part in the competition.” – Fayona (S3-05).
