KVIS-SST COLLABORATIVE STUDENT RESEARCH PROGRAM 2025

The KVIS-SST Collaborative Student Research Program is a premier scientific exchange designed to challenge high-ability students through cross-border research. In 2025, sixteen students—eight from each school—embarked on a two-phase journey to co-develop projects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Artificial Intelligence.

Phase 1: Immersion in Thailand’s Innovation Hub (17–23 August)

The program commenced with the SST delegation visiting the KVIS campus, situated within the Wang Chan Valley—the heart of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi).

  • Academic Integration: SST students attended specialized science classes at KVIS, gaining exposure to the Thai academic environment.

  • Project Inception: Mixed teams began the vital groundwork for their research, conducting initial experiments and data collection.

  • Scientific Discovery: The itinerary included visits to state-of-the-art facilities, including the Observatory Towerand the Intelligent Operation Centre of the EECi, providing students with insights into regional technological advancements.

Phase 2: Culmination and University Exposure in Singapore (16–22 November)

The exchange concluded as the KVIS team traveled to Singapore to finalize their research and experience the local innovation landscape.

  • Higher Education Pathways: The delegation visited Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), exploring world-class laboratories and undergraduate research opportunities.

  • Urban & Tech Innovation: To understand Singapore's unique infrastructure, students visited the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and observed a local robotics competition, witnessing the practical application of STEM in urban planning.

  • The Final Showcase: The program reached its peak as student teams formally presented their collaborative research findings. These presentations demonstrated not only scientific rigour but also the ability to collaborate effectively across different cultures and backgrounds.

Conclusion

The 2025 KVIS-SST partnership has once again proven that scientific inquiry is a universal language. Beyond the data and laboratory results, the exchange strengthened the bonds of friendship and cultural understanding between Singapore and Thailand, preparing these young researchers for a future of global cooperation.
