Opportunity X - STEM Research Conference 2022

The STEM Research Conference 2022 is organised by Opportunity X, a student-initiated organisation that aims to bring science research opportunities to underrepresented groups in society. They attempt to do this by sharing their knowledge of STEM with middle school students in their community. With an increased exposure and experience in research, students can develop a passion and take their careers in a direction they never imagined.

Participants will research and film a 3-5 minutes video to explain any STEM topic they can think of using the wide expanses of their imagination and intellect. It aims to give students an opportunity to explore their passions and gain critical research skills through this challenge. Scientists who are experts in their fields will judge the Science Exploration Challenge submissions. More information can be found here: https://www.opportunityx.org/2022-stem-research-conference

The judging criteria includes the following:
Creativity
Creativity of topic?
Creativity in the way the student presents ideas?
Scientific Thought
How detailed were the explanations?
How clearly are concepts stated?
Presentation
How clear and confident is the student on the idea they’ve explained?
How enthusiastic is the student about their topic?
Is the presentation enjoyable?
