Super Science High School (SSH) is a designation awarded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to upper secondary schools that prioritise science, technology, and mathematics. The program was launched as part of its "Science Literacy Enhancement Initiatives" in 2002. Schools with this status receive increased funding and are encouraged to develop links with universities and other academic institutions.
Kumamoto Prefectural Kumamoto Kita High School is a public high school located in Usagidani 3-chome, Kita-ku, Kumamoto City , Kumamoto Prefecture. Previously, there were visits between the two schools either way.
On 6 July 2023, Kumamoto Kita Student International Science Forum was held at Kumamoto Kita High School. The one-day hybrid forum for students from across the world to share and discuss their research. The goal of this event is to introduce and discuss a range of scientific and social issues from a variety of global perspectives.

SST was represented by 2 teams of students:
Investigation of how simulating microgravity at different clinostat speed will affect the growth of plants
ZAVIER ONG YONG ZHI (S2-07)
Gallium-Aluminium ratio on the production of hydrogen gas
FU CAI GUI, IAN ANG KAI ERN, LI JIAYOU (S2-08)
It is a unique experience between the two schools as projects are facilitated through the use of the online platform.
