How can science be shared in ways that everyone can understand and enjoy? Through the Science Communication Performance Task, our Secondary 4 IDP students took on the challenge of translating complex scientific ideas into engaging, accessible writing. This initiative, which began in 2024, was carried out in collaboration with Dr. Tan Aik Ling, Associate Professor (Science Education) and Deputy Head (Teaching and Curriculum Matters), and a group of distinguished researchers from the National Institute of Education (NIE), encouraged students to think creatively about how science can be made more accessible to various stakeholders beyond the Science community.
The following selection highlights some of our students’ best popular science articles, where they bring science to life through clear, engaging, and thoughtful storytelling.
